2007: Played in 16 games for the Beacons as a sophomore, making 11 starts...split time between defense and playing in goal...led the team with a 4.56 Goals Against Average, making 43 saves.

2006: Played in four games for the Beacons as a freshman, making three starts in goal...led the team with a 2.33 Goals Against Average, recording two shutouts.

High School Experience: Played one year on varsity at Pleasant Hill High for coach Rick Virgin...earned District 5 honorable mention and was on the Sky-Em All-Scholar Athlete team as a senior...has a 1.28 GAA as a senior and was the only goalie to record a shutout against Sky-Em League Champion Sisters HS on October 18, 2005...also played JV baseball for the Billies.

Personal: Born on June 30, 1987 in Guatemala City, Guatemala...son of Sonia Mayhood and Adolfo Melgar...won two silver medals in the 2004 Tae Kwon Do U.S. Junior Olympics...won first place in the 2003 Young Guns Paintball tournament...was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and earned numerous scholar awards including the 2005 Outstanding Latino Student award...was a member of the 2006 OASSA Honor Team for computer science...enjoys soccer, gymnastics, going to the movies and hanging out with friends...aspires to become a professional soccer player after earning degrees in business, computers and languages...majoring in business administration.
