Coach Ray Ricks

Ray Ricks

Ray Ricks joined the women's basketball coaching staff prior to the 2022-2023 season. 

Ricks brings a highly decorated coaching career with him, including 17 years as the boys basketball coach at Northwest Christian High School in Spokane, Washington, where he implemented his character based coaching initiative, Team-Testimony-Total Release. In those seasons he amassed a record of 404-95, winning six state championship titles. His teams also garnered seven additional trophies at state, narrowly losing the state championships in 2004 and 2012. In 2022 he was inducted into the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  

Coach Ricks currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Bushnell's School of Education. He attended Whitworth University where he completed his bachelors degree in Elementary Education and English, as well as a Master's degree in Education Administration. He served during his K-12 career as a teacher, basketball coach, athletic director, and principal and after retiring in 2018, became the Executive Director of Education at Northwest Christian Schools.
