Nick Askew has been at the helm of the Athletic Communications office at Bushnell University since 2006 and has been in the profession since 2000. 

Askew is in charge of all communication efforts for the Beacon athletic department including statistics, website, publications, press releases, media relations, and data management. He also provides oversight for social media, photography, videography, and livestreaming.

One of the longest tenured Sports Information professionals in the CCC, Askew has been in multiple leadership positions and currently serves as a member of the NAIA-SIDA Statistics Committee. On campus he works as a member of the Integrated Marketing Council, helps lead the Hall of Fame Committee, and was a part of the Bushnell University Name Change Transition/Implementation Team in 2020. 

Under his leadership, BushnellBeacons.com has named one of the top-ten websites in the NAIA three times, most recently in 2020. Askew has been a member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) and NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) for over 20 years and in that time he has garnered over 45 awards in NAIA-SIDA publications and media contests. 

In 2016 his basketball schedule poster was named the NAIA's Best Multi-Sport poster and his "Beacons in Branson" webpage was named Best Special Events Webpage.

In 2017 he won another pair of first-place finishes for both Game Day and Breaking News Infographics. 

In 2017, Askew was also named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Sports Information Director of the Year for the first time in his career. 

Prior to coming to Bushnell, he worked as the SID at Concordia University-Irvine (Calif.) for over five years. While at Concordia, Askew won multiple honors for media guide publications from the NAIA-SIDA. He also had the Concordia website ranked in the top-ten of the NAIA on multiple occasions.

Askew lives in Eugene and has eight children, Abby, Andrew, James, Katie, Aiden, Dylan, Alex and Ellie.
