Claiming an extensive history with the NCU golf programs, Tony Joyner returned to the Director of Golf post in 2017. Joyner previously worked as a head coach with the men's and women's programs and as Director of Golf between 2007 and 2011. He was the original women's golf coach when the program launched in 2007 and in 2011 he was named the CCC Men's Golf Coach of the Year.

In 2013 he returned for a one-year stint as the Recruiting Coordinator.

With Joyner in the fold, NCU experienced record roster sizes on both the men’s and women’s sides. He was responsible for the recruitment of five All-CCC golfers including Falk and Hall of Famer Justin Ahrens.

Most recently Joyner was the head coach at New Hope Christian College, from 2014-2017. He also worked as the Director of Admissions for NHCC and as a Lead Admissions Advisor.

Coach Joyner is a former Golf Professional, having worked at Middlefield Golf Course. In addition, he was a private teaching professional through partnership with Precision Golf School in Eugene and he has previously coached the girls golf program at Sheldon High School.

Joyner was a four-year letter-winning golfer at the University of Oregon and was a two-time member of NCAA National Championship qualifying teams. He finished 4th at the Pac-10 Tournament in 1985 and that same year he won the Oregon Amateur Championship at Rouge Valley Country Club in Medford.
