Fredrick Kruse joined the Bushnell coaching staff in 2020 to help guide pole vaulters and hurdlers, and currently works exclusively with the hurdlers.
Kruse comes to the Beacons with 20 years experience coaching the sport from middle school through college. He has recently coached at Cal Young Middle School and Springfield High School and was an assistant coach at New Hope Christian College in Eugene.
While at NHCC, Kruse coached the first national scorer in school history in the steeplechase and also helped co-coach the first national champion in the javelin.
Outside of coaching, Kruse spent the last seven years working with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, serving the international student community at University of Oregon. He became the High School Pastor at First Baptist Church of Eugene in 2020.
