Biography
2017: Did not compete as a senior.
2016-2017: CROSS COUNTRY: Ran two races for NCU as a sophomore...set a personal record 28:43 at the Inland Empire Challenge. TRACK - Had an explosive year for the Beacons as he set a new school record in the 800m (1:55.25) and took third place at the CCC Championships to earn All-CCC honors...Owned the top six times in the event for the Beacons during the season.
2015-2016: CROSS COUNTRY: Ran in one race for the Beacons, hitting a 30:25 at the CCC Preview. TRACK & FIELD - Did not compete.
2014-2015: CROSS COUNTRY - Utilized a redshirt year with the Beacons. TRACK - Competed exclusively in the 800m distance...posted the second-fastest time of the season for NCU with a 1:56.68 at the Titan Twilight.
High School Experience: Ran three years of cross country and track at Union High for coach Eschels...won the district championship in the 800m as a junior (1:57)...named most inspirational for cross country...also wrestled for the Titans for one year, earning second at the district championships.
Personal: Born in Vancouver, Washington...birthday is May 25...son of Sandy and Kevin Sparks...enjoys anything outdoors...majoring in education.
