Elton Villanueva became the Director of Esports in July of 2022.
Villanueva studied at the University of Oregon and later spent eight years there as an adjunct professor of organizational psychology and applied meta-cognition. Prior to Bushnell, he worked for the Oregon Department of Human Services and Oregon Health Authority as a family coach.
Villanueva spent six years as an Esports club advisor at the high school level. As the Director of Esports for the Beacons, his mission is to inspire and prepare student-athletes to succeed by providing hands-on experiences, educational opportunities, and competition within a Christ-centered community. Outside of Esports, his passions lie in mindset coaching and leadership consulting, working with business leaders and athletes.
Coach Villanueva also serves as an assistant coach with the Bushnell Beach Volleyball team, which has received votes in the NAIA Top-10 Coaches Poll in each of their first two seasons and grabbed a win over NCAA Division I University of Portland in 2023.
