
In 2012, Bushnell University launched a chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. As the third university in the state of Oregon, Bushnell holds the designation of the Oregon Gamma chapter.Â
Chi Alpha Sigma currently includes 284 chapters in 40 states plus the District of Columbia. In Oregon, Bushnell joins The University of Oregon and Eastern Oregon University. The mission of the NCAHS is to bring honor and recognition to deserving student-athletes, their families, teams, athletic departments and universities. The Beacons induct members into Chi Alpha Sigma at the highest level of academic and athletic success at Bushnell University.Â
Bushnell Membership Requirements for the National College Athlete Honor Society:Â
1. Must earn a letter in a varsity intercollegiate sport(s) sponsored by the NAIA.
2. Must have achieved senior academic standing.
3. Must have attended Bushnell for a minimum of three years.
4. Must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 (on a 4.0 scale) by the end of the first semester of their senior year.
5. Must have endorsement from the head coach of his/her sport(s).
6. Must be recommended by the Chapter Advisor.
7. Must be a Champion of Character.
