KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Bushnell University women's golf team opened up the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule this week, taking sixth-place at the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational at Running Y Golf Resort.

The Beacons finished the two-round tournament scoring a 329-337—666. Bushnell was five strokes behind The College of Idaho but held a comfortable 30-stroke lead over Southern Oregon.

Shawn Brandt said, "The ladies fought hard this week and had great energy. We continue to find ways to grow as a team and get better in a very challenging and top-ranked conference. It takes time to build the culture and resilience to compete at a high level and I am really proud of how the ladies battle and continue to work."

Jaylee Hix (pictured) (78-86—164) led the Beacons, taking 21st place while
Kylee Smith (82-85—167) and
Jada Richwine (83-84—167) tied for 25th.
Hailey Smith (86-82—168) and
Jordyn Lorence (81-87—168) tied for 27th while
Morgan Schlesinger (88-91—179) claimed 41st.

Winning the tournament was No. 4-ranked British Columbia, shooting three-over par for the tournament to score 579 and defeat No. 16 Lewis-Clark State by 17 strokes. No. 19 Oregon Tech earned third-place, just four shots behind the Warriors.

UP NEXT: After a few weeks off, the Beacons will travel to Laurel, Montana on September 28-29 where they will take part in the Beartooth Invitational, hosted by Rocky Mountain College.
