EUGENE, Ore. – Another defensive battle was in the cards on Saturday night as Bushnell played to a scoreless draw with Eastern Oregon University in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. With the tie, Bushnell remains undefeated at 5-0-4.
The tie with EOU is the second in a row for the Beacons, who eliminated the regular-season champion Mounties from the 2025 CCC tournament quarterfinals in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.
"We played against a tough opponent tonight and were able to defend collectively and shut down the most important spaces on the field," said head coach
Joao Ehlers. "I am pleased with our mentality tonight."
The combatants combined for just four shots-on-goal on Saturday, with Bushnell's
Aaron Lowry (pictured) earning the shutout with just two saves as he improved his CCC-leading Goals Against Average to 0.49. Eastern Oregon's Victor Melendez made one save to earn his clean sheet.
UP NEXT: The Beacons, one of three CCC teams still undefeated on the season, hit the road for the next three weeks of Cascade Collegiate Conference action and will have a big challenge on their hands in their next game, taking on No. 24 Warner Pacific University in Portland next Friday at 2:30 pm.
