EUGENE, Calif. – Junior Brady Housley (pictured) scored two goals and assisted on another as the Bushnell men's soccer team routed the University of Providence on Saturday evening in the Cascade Collegiate Conference opener, 5-0.
 
The Beacons (5-0-2) dominated every inch of the game, out-shooting the Argos 21-3 while holding the visitors to just one shot-on-goal in each half.
 
It didn't take long for the Beacons to get on the board with what would become the game winner as Joan Remo Morales rose above the defense for a header into the net off a corner kick from Severin Larsen.
 
Just four minutes later, Bushnell would strike again as Teva Mataoa received a deep pass from Tomas Jujihara and beat the keeper with the hard strike. Mataoa added an assist in the 26th minute on Housley's first goal. Driving up the left side, Mataoa sent a baseline grounder back into the box where Housley slid into the box, getting enough of a piece of the ball to redirect it into the net, making it 3-0.
 
The second half saw Bushnell put up two more goals, with Housley scoring in the 68th minute, coming into the box unmarked, taking a perfectly slotted pass from Remo Morales and one-timing a strike past a diving keeper.
 
The final goal came in the 75th minute when Housley passed to Aaron Villa, connecting with Liva Rabeary on a bang-bang play for the goal.
 
"Great performance by everyone tonight," said Head Coach Joao Ehlers. "We kept the tempo high during the whole match and were rewarded for it."
 
Housley, who now leads the Beacons with five assists and 11 total points added, "Collectively the team put in a great performance today. We worked incredibly hard to make a statement and we did what we came to do. We got great energy from the fans and we came out with a great win."
 
UP NEXT: The Beacons, undefeated through seven games for the second year in a row, will continue CCC action next weekend and will face College of Idaho (0-3-2, 0-0-1) on Friday at 7:00 pm. On Saturday Bushnell will be visited by Eastern Oregon University (0-1-2, 0-0).
