ASHLAND, Ore. - Â Southern Oregon University, ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA National Coaches Poll, had another strong day on Saturday, knocking off the Beacons with a pair of 9-0 run-rule shutouts.

The Raiders (29-9, 10-5 CCC) continued to show why they are one of the best teams in the country, holding Bushnell (5-21, 2-10) to four hits as they rounded out a weekend in which they outscored Bushnell 41-1.

GAME ONE: Southern Oregon 9, Bushnell 0 (5 Innings)

It was a pair of big innings that did in the Beacons in the opener as the Raiders scored four runs in the third and five in the fourth. Their ten-hit game supported the efforts of Ayla Davies (14-5) who got the win with seven strikeouts in four innings, allowing just two singles to
Riley Peeler and
Brenna Wilson.

Sara Martin (3-10) took the loss in the circle for Bushnell despite striking out four batters in 3.1 innings. The senior gave up just four earned runs as four more Beacon errors led to four unearned scores.

GAME TWO: Southern Oregon 9, Bushnell 0 (5 Innings)

The Raiders did their damage early in the night cap as they tagged Bushnell starter
Gabby Garza (0-5) with four runs in the first inning. They went on to score another in the second before sealing the run-rule with four more in the bottom of the fourth.

Bushnell had two hits again in the second contest, getting singles from
Makenzie Alexander and
Ashlyn Martin, while the defense was able to step up and play error-free softball for the first time since March 7.

Tatiana Bliss (4-0) went the distance for SOU, striking out seven Beacons over five innings for the win.

UP NEXT: The road doesn't get any easier for the Beacons, who continue their trek through the toughest conference in the nation at home next weekend, taking on No. 2 Oregon Tech for a four-game series. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on Friday. Due to the class schedule at Maple Elementary School next door to Rich Schwab Field, fans are reminded that they are not permitted to arrive for the contest until 2:50 pm.
