RESULTS | SALEM, Ore. – A 24-shot improvement on Sunday helped elevate the Bushnell women's golf team two spots as they claimed fifth-place at the Willamette Valley Cup, hosted by Willamette University at Creekside Golf Club.

The Beacons shot a 355 to open the tournament on Saturday but came back strong with a 331 on Sunday, their fourth-lowest round of the season. Bushnell ended the event one shot ahead of Pacific Lutheran in sixth and 15-strokes clear of Corban University in seventh. Â

Kylee Smith led the way for the Beacons, shooting an 82-79—161 to tie for 11th-place.
Hailey Smith (pictured) improved eleven shots round-over-round to earn 26th (90-79—169) while
Jada Richwine (92-83—175) finished in 33rd.

Jaylee Hix (42nd, 93-90—183) and
Morgan Schlesinger (46th, 91-98—189) rounded out the Beacon contingent.

NCAA Division III No. 23-ranked George Fox won the tournament with a two-round score of 622, defeating NAIA No. 22-ranked Lewis-Clark State by one stroke (623). Lewis & Clark College (648) took third, Pacific University (649) took fourth and the Beacons (686) were fifth.
