BOISE, Idaho – Bushnell put up a strong fight on Monday morning, falling in an Exhibition to Boise State University, 84-48. It was Boise's counting opener in front of a raucous Kids Day crowd at ExtraMile Arena.
Â
The Beacons (0-2) out-shot the Broncos from outside, hitting on 35% of their tries while holding BSU to 32.4% shooting. It was a 26-turnover performance and 50-26 discrepancy on the glass that limited the Bushnell opportunities against the NCAA Division I foe.

"Obviously we played a very talented Pac-12 team today, and they did what they were supposed to do. I thought we had some really great moments. The first quarter was outstanding aside from offensive rebounds that we were not able to prevent, but overall we saw some really positive things come together today offensively. We found some victories that we definitely needed to find and I loved how we moved the ball at times."
Â
Ellis Mastel led the way on offense, scoring ten points while
Sabrina Flowers (pictured, left)Â hit a pair of three-pointers and scored nine.
Dayvis Key (pictured, right) was a strong presence with three blocks and four rebounds on defense, adding six points.
Â
Boise State (1-0) was led by CJ Latta, coming off the bench to shoot 7-for-8 from three-point range for 21 points. The rest of the team was held to just 4-for-28 beyond the arc. Zia-Daye Anderson chipped in 11 points while Mason Borcherding came off the bench to score eight with a game-high ten rebounds.
Â
Meadors added, "I thought out hedging on defense was excellent and I thought we doubled the post really well. They hit some threes and we wanted to close out on those, but overall I found a ton of positives to take away from this. We got better today and this is going to help us going forward for sure."

UP NEXT: The Beacons will head to Salem next weekend for a tournament hosted by Corban University. They play Lewis and Clark College on Friday at 7:30 pm and Simpson University on Saturday at 6:00 pm
