SALEM, Ore. – A school-record smashing 15-match undefeated streak finally came to an end on Friday evening when the Bushnell men's soccer team suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to Corban University, 2-0.
Â
Ranked No. 174 in the NAIA RPI, Corban (5-6-2, 3-4 CCC) held the Beacons to just two shots-on-goal and became the first opponent since Bushnell's non-conference opener in August to score twice.

Head Coach
Joao Ehlers said, "We didn't have a good night and our performance was poor in the beginning of the game. We need to learn from tonight's game and collectively improve for the final stretch. There is plenty of soccer left to play and we are still in a good spot. Now we need to learn to bounce back from some adversity."
Â
Corban scored both of their goals in the first half, just four minutes apart to take the 2-0 lead in just the 27th minute. Bushnell had plenty of opportunities to mount a comeback as they dominated the second half. The Beacons out-shot the Warriors 7-1 after the break, but weren't able to take advantage.
Â
The loss ends a remarkable stretch for Bushnell that extended into the end of the 2025 season which closed with back-to-back ties in the Cascade Conference Tournament. The Beacons more than doubled their previous record for consecutive undefeated games which came from a 7-0 start to the previous campaign. The Beacons also end a four-match winning streak, which was their longest ever in CCC action.
Â
UP NEXT: The Beacons (9-1-4, 5-1-2 CCC) benefitted from a loss for No. 15 Southern Oregon University (9-2-1, 5-2) on Friday as they remain alone in second-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with 17 points. After going 4-1 on a five-match road trip, Bushnell will return home next weekend to take on SOU on Friday at 7:00 pm.
