OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Bushnell women's basketball team put an end to a five-game losing streak, outscoring The Evergreen State 18-2 in the second quarter to pull away for a 64-54 victory in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
The Beacons (6-17, 4-11 CCC) shot just 36% in the game and went 0-for-10 from three-point range, but dominated ESC on the boards, out-rebounding the home team 50-28 and using 27 offensive boards for an 18-0 margin in second-chance points.
Kenzie Pedersen (pictured) once again posted the team high, scoring 17 points while
Maddie Gerhart scored 11 points with a team-high seven rebounds.
Ayden Krupke also scored 11 and had a career-high seven steals as the Beacons out-scored the Geoducks 23-6 off turnovers.
Evergreen (0-17, 0-14) was led by Jenna Glenzel, scoring 12 points with a game-high nine rebounds. Bayleigh Harder added ten points, seven rebounds and eight blocks in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Beacons, who jumped back into sole possession of eighth-place in the CCC with the victory, will return home next weekend and are set to play host to Southern Oregon University on Friday at 5:30 pm.
