Beacons Taken Down by Well-Rounded Warriors

EUGENE, Ore. – The NAIA's No. 20-ranked Corban University women's basketball team had all five starters in double-figures and claimed an 85-55 victory over Bushnell on Tuesday night in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.

The Beacons (5-14, 3-8 CCC) shot just 30% in the game, but showed some of their patented grit, earning a 13-11 advantage in offensive rebounds while forcing 16 Corban turnovers.

Sabrina Flowers and Maddie Gerhart led the way for the Beacons, scoring ten points apiece while Ciena Tumoine added five points and a team-high seven rebounds including four on the offensive glass.

In her most extensive action of the season thus far, junior Giorgia Medori (pictured) added seven points as the Beacon reserves outscored their Corban counterparts, 23-22.

Corban (15-4, 8-3 CCC) who sits in third-place in the Cascade Conference, was led by Jersey Huerta, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Tayla Yost scored 13 and Emilia Bishop finished with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Tori Younker and Jenna Albrecht each posted ten.
