Beacons Shutout Pioneers to Remain Undefeated

VALLEJO, Calif.  – Giovanni Agogliati had a hand in all three goals on Thursday and the Beacons are off to their best start in school history after a 3-0 victory over Pacific Union College.

The Beacons are 5-0 for the first time in school history and extend their current winning streak to seven, dating back to the final two games of the 2024 season. Bushnell is also undefeated in their last 17 non-conference contests.

Head Coach Joao Ehlers said, "We had another great performance with many of our guys contributing a lot to the outcome. We did a good job in creating chances and scoring goals early in the first and second halves."

Bushnell wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard as Agogliati (pictured) found Danny Rojas in the middle of the goalie box in the ninth minute, leading to Rojas' second goal of the season.

The score remained 1-0 into the second half but quickly doubled as Agogliati scored his third of the season. Joan Remo Morales intercepted a ball at midfield and laced a through ball down the side to Omar Barajas. Bushnell's all-time assists leader added another to his total with a one-timer cross and Agogliati finished with authority.

Barajas scored himself in the 58th minute and once again Agogliati was in on the dish, giving him his sixth straight goal in which he had a hand either scoring or assisting. Barajas has now scored seven goals through five games and is tied for the Cascade Conference lead.

Bushnell finished the game with a 17-6 advantage in shot attempts, holding the Pioneers (0-2) to just two shots on goal in a clean sheet effort. William Haberfield was in goal for the first 85 minutes and made one save.

UP NEXT: Bushnell remain in Vallejo on Saturday as they are set to close out the non-conference schedule against Cal Maritime at 11:00 am. It will be the season opener for the Keelhaulers.
