Interim Tag Dropped for Bushnell Baseball Coach Jamie Womack

EUGENE, Ore. - Following a highly successful season for the Beacons baseball program, Bushnell Athletic Director announced this week that Jamie Womack has officially taken head coaching duties for the program. Womack served as the Interim Head Coach for the 2024-2025 year.

Coach Jamie WomackAs a part of the coaching staff since its inception in 2021, Womack has led the recruiting efforts for the Bushnell program, bringing in a roster that in 2025 produced a 32-20 overall record including a 22-15 mark in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and a second consecutive trip to the CCC tournament.

Womack has elevated the program, which saw a roster of more than 40 young men combine for a 3.50 team GPA over the course of the year, while living out Bushnell's tri-athlete model with equal focus on competition, academics, and character development.

Bushnell Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, "Following a season of competitive play on the field, continued academic success in the classroom, along with a team that serves the community well (both on campus and throughout Lane County) all while keeping Christ at the core of the program, Jamie has made it clear that he is the right leader at the right time for Bushnell Baseball. With this, we are moving forward by removing the interim tag from his title. I look forward to many successful years ahead with Coach Womack as our Head Baseball Coach."

During his interim season, Bushnell were at one point receiving votes in the NAIA National Coaches Poll and had both an eight-game and nine-game winning streak, the longest in school history. The Beacons went 23-6 at home including eight walk-off victories. The team went 9-3 in one-run games and were a perfect 3-0 in extra-innings. The Beacons were also named the winners of Bushnell's Dr. Heike McNeil Cup as the Team of the Year.

"I am excited to continue to build upon the foundation and improvements we've seen over these past four years," said Womack. "I am grateful for Corey Anderson's and Sarah Freeman's support and leadership over my interim year and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us."
