2025 Cascade Conference Softball Postseason Awards
CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the first-time in school history, the Bushnell softball team had three players selected to the All-Cascade Collegiate Conference teams, as announced by the conference offices on Thursday.
Â
Despite leading the Cascade Conference with 13 doubles, 12 home runs, and 25 extra-base hits,
Violet Richardson was selected to the Second-Team All-Conference, as no athlete from a non-playoff team was able to crack the top-18 vote getters to land on the First-Team.
Â
Richardson ended her sophomore season just two home runs shy of the Bushnell single-season record and the most dingers for a Beacon in nine years. Her 12 home runs were four more than any other player in the CCC, and her 25 extra-base hits (with 13 doubles) were six greater than her nearest challenger. Richardson also boasted the second highest slugging percentage in the CCC (.724) and the second-highest number of total bases (89).
Â
Also claiming Second-Team All-CCC was junior pitcher
Sara Martin. In her first season with the Beacons, Martin went 8-8 in the circle, making her the first Bushnell pitcher to finish a season with a .500-or-better record in 19 years. Her Earned Run Average of 2.15 was the best for a Beacon in 20 years, the fourth-lowest in program history, and the fourth-lowest in the Cascade Conference this season.
Â
Senior
Emily Cole closed out a strong two-year career with the Beacons with an All-Conference honorable mention. Cole had the eighth-lowest ERA in the CCC this season at 2.49, which goes down as the ninth-lowest in school history. She was fourth in the CCC with 101 strikeouts, and finishes her career ranked fifth all-time with 194 K's, despite playing just two seasons.
Â
Since joining the Cascade Conference in 2008, Bushnell has been honored with two All-Conference nods in ten different seasons. This is the first year in which three Beacons were honored at the same time.
Â
The Beacons closed out their 2025 campaign with a record of 15-29 and took seventh-place in the CCC, just one spot outside of the post-season. They matched their highest win total of the last nine seasons.
