Beacons Take Sixth at Pacific Invitational

RESULTS

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – The Bushnell women's golf team took sixth-place at the Pacific Invitational, taking place at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course, which wrapped up with the second round on Sunday.
 
After shooting a 353 in Saturday's first round, the Beacons went into the clubhouse in fifth-place. A 367 in round two took them to sixth with a total score of 720, but they were still the second-highest finishing team from the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
 
Rocky Mountain College, ranked No. 22 in the NAIA, won the event with a score of 645, followed by the CCC's College of Idaho at 659. Bushnell beat out the Corban Warriors, who combined to score 750, by 30 strokes.

Hailey Smith led the way for the Beacons, taking 29th place (86-92—178). Morgan Schlesinger and Jada Richwine (pictured) had matching scores of 88-92—180 to take 31st place, and Kyle Smith rounded out the team in 33rd (91-91—182).  
 
C of I's Kaylee Jones won the tournament with a 13-over 155, tying for medalist honors with RMC's Tyla Potgieter.
 
The Beacons will be back in action next weekend at Creekside Golf Course in Salem where they will compete in the Willamette University Invitational.
