REDDING, Calif. – The Bushnell women's golf team improved 14 strokes from Monday to Tuesday, but settled for fifth place at the Simpson Spring Invitational, taking place at Riverview Golf Course.

The Beacons were fourth after the first day, but Corban University stormed back with their best round in five years to take fourth and the Beacons (359-345—704) finished two strokes behind.

Oregon Tech won the tournament with a 622, finishing five shots ahead of Grace College. Southern Oregon (640) took third.

Leading the way for the Beacons was
Morgan Schlesinger (85-89—174) in 22
nd, followed by
Kylee Smith (89-87—176) in 23
rd.
Jada Richwine (89-88—177) and
Hailey Smith (96-81—177) tied for 25
th with Hailey shooting the best round of the tournament for the Beacons. Also golfing for the Beacons was
Grace Wetherup (pictured), who finished tied for 33
rd and shot 11 strokes better on day two (101-90—191) equaling her best round of the season.

The Beacons will return to action in two weeks, heading to Stone Ridge Golf Course in Eagle Point for the final regular season Cascade Conference tournament.
