Bushnell Dominates Wolves to Clinch Sixth Place

EUGENE, Ore. – Heading into the final day of the regular season, the Beacons know where they will finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and where they will head for the CCC Quarterfinals, after clinching sixth-place with a 76-52 victory over Walla Walla University on Friday afternoon.

The Beacons overpowered the Wolves from start to finish on Saturday, shooting a season-best 52.5% from the field and hitting nine three-pointers, all while holding WWU to just a 33% clip, out-rebounding the Wolves 39-33 and collecting five blocked shots on defense.

Head Coach Cad Meadors said, "We played really well tonight. I am really pleased with our ball movement and Ayden Krupke absolutely played great, making the right decisions and putting the ball in the basket. Everybody contributed and it was a great night on both ends of the floor. We are putting things together at the right time of year and if we can continue this tomorrow I would be ecstatic."

Krupke was on fire in the first half, scoring 12 points in the first quarter alone, and finishing with a career-high 28 points on 11-for-16 shooting. Ellis Mastel produced her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and ten rebounds while Libby Mathis finished with 11 points, seven boards, and two blocks. Liv Tjoelker didn't score for the Beacons but did a little of everything else, posting a team-high five assists along with a career-best three blocks.

Walla Walla (7-20, 4-17) was led by Jordan Green-Wallace, coming off the bench to score 14 points. Chariah Daniels added 11 points and ten rebounds while Nataliee Trevino scored 12.

The Beacons (11-16, 10-11) will look to move back to .500 in CCC play on Saturday at 3:00 pm when they take on Lewis-Clark State. The game will be a preview of the Cascade Conference quarterfinals, as Bushnell has earned the No. 6 seed and will travel to face the No. 3 seeded Warriors next Wednesday.

Before the game, the Beacons will honor Tjoelker, Mathis, and Mandy Sisul for Senior Day.
