EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell Esports continued the spring season, earning a win in Rocket League and had consistent performances in Teamfight Tactics.
SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE (SSBU)
Match 3: Texas Woman's University 2, Bushnell 0 (12-7, 12-6)
The format of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU) is 4v4 Crew Battles. Teams are assigned opponents of similar records each week and play a best-of-three series.
Bushnell dropped to 1-2 on Monday night, falling to Texas Woman's University. The Beacons had their first travel day in school history, playing at the University of Oregon due to potential internet instability.
TEAMFIGHT TACTICS (TFT)
Week 3: Claunch (8th), Farris (T-26th)
Zack Claunch was placed into the top division (Division A) of competition, while
Nathan Farris will compete in Division B. Every Monday, Claunch and Farris will play two matches, competing in an eight-way free-for-all format. The top 16 teams from each division will advance to the playoffs.
Claunch placed second and third in week three to maintain his position among the top 10 on the Division A leaderboard. He has had a top four finish in five of six games. Farris had a third and fifth-place result in week three, moving him to 26
th on the Division B leaderboard. Just five points separate Farris from the top 16.
ROCKET LEAGUE
Match 1: Bushnell 4, Northeastern 3 (6-5, 5-1, 2-1, 0-2, 0-2, 3-4, 1-0)
Isaac Wagner,
Brec Feehan and
Kyle Foss are competing in Division A, the second highest level of competition in the ECAC. They will play a six-game regular season, playing a best-of-seven series each week. The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
The Beacons won their season opener, 4-3, narrowly avoiding the reverse sweep, a fate they fell victim to on multiple occasions in the fall. Bushnell continues the regular season this week against UM-Flint on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 5:00 p.m.
FC 25
Match 3: Concord University 2, Bushnell 0 (9-1, 5-4)
Andrew Bennett dropped his third-week match to Concord University, falling to 1-2. There are 131 teams competing in the spring. Bennett will be assigned an opponent of similar record each week.
MADDEN
Match 2: Radford University 2, Bushnell 0
Caden Hoerauf represents Bushnell in Madden. He will be assigned an opponent of a similar record each week, playing a best-of-three series every Thursday night. There are 80 colleges participating in the spring
Hoerauf faced Radford University last Thursday, falling in two.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Match 2 (Hoerauf): Post University 2, Bushnell 0
Caden Hoerauf and
Mason Monrroy will represent the Beacons in their inaugural College Football season. They will be assigned opponents of similar records each week, playing a best-of-three series. There are 54 colleges participating in the spring.
After a dominant week one victory, Hoerauf took on a tough opponent from Post University, a player he competed against in Madden the week prior. He fell in two to move to 1-1 on the year.
FORTNITE
Week 2: Gold (122 points, 51st), Blue (66 points, 80th), White (28 points, 109th)
Fortnite will compete in a seven-week zero build duos regular season, playing three matches each week. Points are earned based on placement and eliminations. At the end of the regular season, the top 50 teams on the leaderboard will advance to the playoffs.
