ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Beacons played their third straight one-possession game on Friday afternoon, dropping their final game of the Bill Holtz Classic to NCAA Division II Stanislaus State, 62-60.

Points were at a premium once again in another defensive battle as neither team hit 40% from the field, combining for 35 turnovers. The Beacons (1-5) hit just 5-for-18 from three-point range and allowed the Warriors to score 18 points off of Bushnell's 21 miscues. Bushnell once again held a sizeable margin in rebounding (44-35) and held a 14-2 advantage in second-chance points.

Chad Meadors said, "It looks as though we're going to have some close games this entire season, so it's on us to prepare for the end of game situations. Our kids are fighters and we just need a little resiliency and battle through these tough results."

Maddie Gerhart finished with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds and shot 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, where the Beacons hit 89% for the game. Coach Meadors said, "We need to find a few more baskets and have a few more people continue to step up and improve, but we definitely found one bright spot coming out of the weekend. Maddie is really developing into a player we can count on."

The Beacons were led in scoring by
Sabrina Flowers with 13 points along with five rebounds.
Ayden Krupke added 11 points and
Dayvis Key ended with a game-high ten rebounds.

The Warriors (1-0) were led by Eryn Gardner, scoring 22 points and nine rebounds. Milasarai Tau added ten points before fouling out. Â
