ASHLAND, Ore. – The Bushnell softball team continued their gauntlet through the CCC on Thursday, opening their second straight series against an NAIA Top-Ten team with a pair of losses to Southern Oregon University, 8-0 in five innings and 7-1 in seven.

Bushnell (6-23, 1-13 CCC) was out-hit 17-8 on the day, getting production from eight different players, including a game-one triple from
Haleigh Wambolt (pictured). Southern Oregon (23-8, 11-3) had seven extra-base hits and were led by Faith Moultrie who had a 4-for-6 day at the plate and scored five times.

The Beacons got on the board with their only run of the day in the fourth inning of game two.
Breanna Hilton hit an RBI single, scoring Erika Allen to make it a 2-1 contest at the time.

Bushnell committed six errors in the game and were led in the circle by
Emily Cole who struck out five batters in 8.2 innings and allowed five earned runs.

Bushnell will close out the weekend series with SOU on Friday, playing a conference game at 11:00 am, followed by the non-conference fourth game at 1:00 pm. Â
