No. 24 Southern Oregon Pulls Away Late

Box Score ASHLAND, Ore. – A 25-6 deficit in fourth-quarter scoring for the Bushnell women's basketball team allowed Southern Oregon to pull away late in Saturday's Cascade Collegiate Conference contest.
 
Bushnell (9-8, 5-6) led 52-44 with nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter but Southern Oregon (13-4, 9-2) went on a 12-0 run to take the lead and held the Beacons to just four points the rest of the way. The Beacons led by as many as 12 points early in the third quarter, but the Raiders used a 38-17 second-half scoring margin to secure the late comeback.
 
Aspen Slifka led the way for the Beacons, recording a game-high 22 points with six rebounds and four assists. Slifka scored 11 of her points in the second period alone. Ayden Krupke finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while Libby Mathis posted 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
 
Meghan McIntyre scored 19 points to lead the Raiders. Makayla Scurlock and Mallory Williams added 11 points apiece off the bench. Southern Oregon shot 52.4% (11-21) from beyond the arc, hitting 4-of-6 in the final period.
 
Up next, Bushnell hosts Corban on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. The Beacons defeated the Warriors, 53-48, on the road in the first matchup.
