EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's soccer team won their fourth straight game on Saturday evening, taking down Lewis & Clark College with their first shutout of the season, 4-0.
The Beacons (4-0) were led by the efforts of two freshmen as
Cole Sindt scored the game-winning goal and added an assist while
Andre Ferreira claimed the clean sheet between the pipes, making two saves.
Bushnell dominated the action, holding a 17-6 advantage in shots. The Pios did not have a shot-on-goal over the final 68 minutes of the contest.
"We had a strong collective performance tonight," said Head Coach
Joao Ehlers. "We were able to defend well and also have good ideas up front. It was good to see so many of our guys getting minutes and contributing on the field."
The Beacons were able spread the minutes well on Saturday with 11 different players coming in off the bench. For the second straight game, all goals came from different scorers, beginning with Sindt's game-winner in the 17th minute off an assist from
Caleb Premo.
Late in the first half,
Alejandro Munoz made it 2-0 and early in the second half,
Miguel Nascimento added another off the assist by Sindt. The final insurance goal came off the foot of
Walter Reustle in the 75th minute, taking a pass from
Francisco Cayolla.
The Beacons will play their final non-conference game on Monday, playing host to Pacific University at 7:00 pm at Civic Park in Eugene.
