Sisul Shines in Win Over UPS

TACOMA, Wash. – Mandy Sisul shot 6-for-7 from beyond the arc as the Bushnell University women's basketball team defeated the University of Puget Sound, 60-50, to earn their fourth straight non-conference victory on Wednesday evening.

Head Coach Chad Meadors said, "We played an outstanding game tonight. That's a really good team we beat on the road. They shoot lights out and we defended extremely well and made it really hard on their shooters. The last two games we've really started to play at a higher level and it was really impressive tonight. Super great win and great to go into the holiday on a win streak."

Bushnell (4-2) held Puget Sound (2-3) to 29% shooting from the field, including 5-of-30 from three. The Loggers finished with an 18-5 advantage in offensive boards but managed just eight second-chance points.

The Beacons got out to a 35-23 halftime lead thanks to a 19-7 edge in the second quarter. The Loggers cut the deficit to four points with just over three minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter but the Beacons continued to make stops, holding the Loggers to 3-for-20 from the floor in the frame. Bushnell went 7-of-10 at the free throw line in the final frame to secure the 10-point win.

Sisul led the way with 19 points, hitting 6-of-7 from three-point range. Aspen Slifka recorded 13 points and Ayden Krupke finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Libby Mathis added nine points and a season-high 12 rebounds.

Bushnell shot 43.9% from the field, including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc.

"Offensively we really attacked their matchup zone and found the holes," said Meadors. "Aspen got it going early, Ayden played well, Liv was a true catalyst tonight, Aly was outstanding, and Libby was there when we needed her and made plays. And Mandy, every time she shoots the ball, I think it's going in. It was a complete win."

The Loggers were led by 14 points from Kennedy Brown. Jordyn Reverman added 13 points and Paige Gerhart added nine.

Up next, Bushnell opens the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule with games at Warner Pacific (Dec. 1) and Multnomah (Dec. 2).
