Head Coach
Chad Meadors said, "We did an okay job in the first half but lost the momentum in the third quarter. We re-found our momentum, settled down and found something that worked for us. Kalina's 17 points really solidified our first half and created our momentum as well as KayKay's all-around play and steadiness. She (Kamelamela) knocked down threes, made the right plays and got us organized and structured."
Â
Kalina Rojas matched her career-high in scoring in the first half, recording 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting, to give the Beacons a 39-27 lead at the break. The Beacons struggled in the third quarter, making just three shots in the frame, before outscoring the Geoducks 19-7 in the final period to solidify the 20-point victory.
Â
Rojas led the Beacons in scoring with her first half total, while adding six rebounds.
Aly Mirabile posted 13 points and six assists, while
Bella Pedrojetti finished with 10 points.
Aspen Slifka recorded nine points and accounted for five steals.
Kaylen Kamelamela added eight points and five assists.
Â
Bushnell scored 23 points off Evergreen turnovers, forcing 21 on the night. The Beacons held a 41-40 edge in rebounding and finished with a 19-5 advantage in points off the bench.
Â
Jalyn Sackrider led all scorers with 18 points and seven rebounds for the Geoducks, shooting 9-of-15 from the field. Paris Wilson added 11 points, while Lily Stewart led Evergreen in rebounding with eight.
