Beacons Cruise Past Pioneers, 86-56

EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell University women's basketball team wrapped up the non-conference slate with an 86-56 victory over visiting Lewis & Clark College on Wednesday evening in the Morse Center.

The Beacons (3-2) opened on a 15-0 run and didn't look back, leading by as many as 39 points in the contest.

Bella Pedrojetti finished with 14 points, shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, to lead the Beacons in scoring. Aspen Slifka added 13 points and seven rebounds. Libby Mathis recorded 12 points and eight rebounds on 5-for-5 shooting.

As a team, Bushnell shot 53% from the floor, including 40.9% from three-point range. The Beacons saw 12 different scorers on the night.

Head Coach Chad Meadors said, "I thought we bounced back well. I was really impressed with our start, our execution on the offensive end and our defensive intensity. It was a fun game for everybody, and it was really cool to see our three freshmen out on the floor together at the end."

The freshmen trio of Charlie Huelsman, Ashley Lohman and Ayden Krupke saw the floor for the majority of the fourth quarter. Lohman scored her first collegiate points, finishing with four on the night. Krupke, who has scored in all but one game this season, added six points.

Lewis & Clark (0-2) was led by Charlotte Carroll, who finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. The Pioneers were held to 34.8% from the field and 30.4% from beyond the ar.

"It was a great team win tonight," said Meadors. "It sets us up for our game against Corban. We are super excited and we are ready for Tuesday."

Bushnell hosts Corban on Tuesday, November 22 at 5:30 p.m. to open Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
