LEWISTON, Idaho – A six-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as the Bushnell women's basketball team fell on the road to Lewis Clark State College, 63-59.
Â
The Beacons (12-8, 9-3 CCC) were down by nine points after the first ten minutes, but found a way to claw back into the contest, trailing by just two points at halftime, 31-29. Bushnell took a brief lead in the third quarter, but LC State (14-3, 8-3) was able to pull away in the fourth.

Head Coach
Chad Meadors said, "Our women played hard and dug out of a huge hole. The Warriors shot the ball so well and we just kept fighting and kept reeling them in, we just made a couple of mistakes late that cost us. I am really excited about where we are, how we are growing and building. Our defense is improving leaps and bounds from where it was at the beginning of the year."
Â
The Beacons shot 37% in the game and hit seven three-pointers.
Morgan McKinney led the way, scoring 13 points while
Kalina Rojas added 12 and ten rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Bella Pedrojetti scored 11 points, hitting a trio of three-pointers.
Â
LC State shot 40% from the field and were led by a 20-point performance from Callie Stevens. Hannah Broyles added 17.
Â
Bushnell returns home next weekend, scheduled to take on Warner Pacific University at 5:30 pm on Friday and Multnomah University at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
