EUGENE, Ore. – If you had record-setting-quarter and 20 steals on your Beacon Bingo card on Tuesday you were in luck as the Bushnell women's basketball team rolled past Corban University, 101-55, in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Â
Bushnell (11-7, 8-2 CCC) topped triple digits for just the fourth time in school history. It was their first  conference game over 100 points in 15 years, a streak dating back to the very first conference game played on November 30, 2007 against Cascade College.
Â
Bushnell shot 52% from the field and were 13-for-26 from three-point range, but had plenty of defense to go with the offense. The Warriors were held to 35% shooting in the game, had 26 turnovers and were blocked six times.
Â
The night started off on a weird note as the team found out mere minutes before the opening tip that they would be without the services of a number of players.
Â
Head Coach
Chad Meadors said, "I was really proud of how the team reacted to everything that got put in place at the last second. What tonight did was create a level of urgency. It allowed us to zero in and when the ball tipped off we were ready to go."
Â
After forcing 12 turnovers in a close 17-13 first quarter, the Beacons pulled away in the second, outscoring Corban 38-12 to take a 55-25 lead into the intermission. It was the highest single-quarter scoring output in school history.
Â
"I thought we played outstanding in the first quarter," said Meadors, "we were just tight. We missed a lot of easy shots, but we settled down in the second quarter."
Â
The foot never eased off the accelerator, as the Beacons added nine more points to the lead in the fourth, and expanded the advantage to 46 by the end of the night. It was Bushnell's largest margin of victory over their previous 58 wins, dating back to 2018. Â
Â

Meadors added, "Normally when you play as well as we did in the first half, you come back out and have a letdown. We just kept pushing and kept playing. I was really proud of how we finished off a complete game."
Â
The Beacons were led by
Morgan McKinney's 21 points. The senior added six rebounds and six assists and tied for the team-high with four steals. She moves into second-place on Bushnell's career lists for both rebounds (676) and steals (180).
Â
Making her first start of the season,
Bella Pedrojetti (left) fired off an 8-for-11 shooting night including a perfect 4-for-4 effort from beyond the arch, scoring 20 points. She also had four steals.
Â
Libby Mathis, pictured above, came off the bench to score 19 points, adding a game-high nine rebounds.
Aly Mirabile scored 13 and led all players with seven assists while
Kalina Rojas added 12. Mathis, Mirabile, and Rojas each had two blocks for the home team.
Â
Playing the most minutes of her career, sophomore
Olivia Bailon made a huge impact off the bench on Tuesday, scoring seven points while adding five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Meadors said, "Olivia played outstanding tonight. It was the first time we've put her at the point guard spot to spell Aly, and boy we really found something there. The way she pushed the ball up the floor gave us a dimension that we didn't know we had. It's something we will definitely take a look at going forward.
Â
Corban (2-15, 1-9) was led by Holly Golenor, who tied game-highs with 21 points and nine rebounds. Kelia Tsutsui added nine points in the loss.
The Beacons hit the road this weekend to face Lewis-Clark State on Saturday at 3:00 pm.Â
