ASHLAND, Ore. – Caught up in a windy and rainy evening, the Bushnell men's soccer team let a late goal slip as they fell to Northwest University on Sunday, 1-0.
Â
Bushnell was out-shot in the game, 21-12, with
Julian Hernandez coming up with three saves as the team allowed just a single goal for the first time this season.
Â
Head Coach
Erik Carrazco said, "The boys played really well today. I think we showed just what we are capable of and I really like that for the guys. It allows them to see they are capable of competing against a quality team like Northwest. We had guys step up and play in different roles today and those guys did great."
Â
After a number of close calls, including a missed penalty kick and a banger off the crossbar, the Eagles finally broke through with the game-winning in the 79th minute as Benjamin Banks-Forder connected off a pass from Tyler Hopp.
Â
Bushnell (0-9, 0-6 CCC) will play the Eagles (3-4-1, 1-3-1) again on Monday in their home finale. Before the 5:00 pm game, the Beacons will honor their seniors.
