NEWBERG, Ore. – The Bushnell softball team played a pair of games on Sunday at George Fox University with the Bruins claiming a pair of five-inning run-rule wins, 14-6 and 15-3.
 
George Fox proved to be an offensive juggernaut over the double-header, combining to out-hit the Beacons 23-14 including four home runs (two grand slams).
 
The Beacons had plenty of offensive highlights of their own, including game-one home runs from Anabel Mendez, Sam Silver, and Miranda Jensen.
 
Mendez went 3-for-3 in the opener, scoring twice.
 
In game two, Bushnell scattered five singles, including RBI efforts from Mendez, Alexa Berry, and Alyssa Ferreira.
 
The Beacons will continue their pre-season games on Wednesday, traveling to face Linfield College for a double-header, beginning at 4:00 pm.
