SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Northwest Christian University out-hit the No. 1 team in the country in both games on Saturday, but Southern Oregon University still walked away with a double-header sweep, winning 2-0 and 8-4.

NCU had five hits in the opener and starter
Emma Jegtvig gave up just two hits to the Raiders over the first six innings, but those two hits proved to be enough. SOU capped off the scoring with an inside-the-park home run for Avery Morehead-Hutsell in the sixth.

Gabby Sandoval threw a complete-game shutout for the Raiders to pick up her third straight victory, striking out five batters.

The Beacons once again out-hit Southern Oregon in the second game, 8-7, but were victimized by four errors that turned into six unearned runs.

Leslie Reynaga gave up one earned run on two hits over the first 3.1 innings for NCU.
Liberty Walker gave up one run in relief before
Anniyah Farley closed the game with two innings of one-hit ball.

Noel Balderston and
Krystal Akagi (pictured) had two hits apiece for the Beacons while Lauren Weinberg led the Raiders with a pair, including an RBI double.

The Beacons will return to action next weekend, traveling to face British Columbia on Friday and Saturday.
