                     McMINNVILLE,  Ore. – Tying a career best on Saturday and breaking it by four strokes on Sunday, sophomore 
Cassidy Krauss lifted the Beacons to a third-place finish over the weekend at the Wildcat Invitational.
 
Linfield College's event, taking place at Michelbook Country Club, was won by Whitman College with a two-round 653 as they defeated Corban (662) by nine strokes. NCU scored a 679 to take third, 13 shots in front of fourth-place Pacific Lutheran.
 
Krauss took third individually as well, sitting seven strokes out of first as she shot an 81-77—158 for the best tournament of her career to date. 
Kelsie Hellwege wasn't far behind in sixth place, shooting a 165.
 
Carli Brousseau finished in 14th place (87-90—177) and 
Stella Reaka was two shots behind her in 15th after posting a new career-low round of 87 on Sunday.
 
Fernanda Gardea rounded out the scoring for the Beacons in 27th.
 
The Beacon women will be back in action on October 7 when they begin play in the Sierra Nevada Invitational at Incline Village Golf Course in Incline Village, Calif.
