Yotes Claim Hard Fought Battle 2-1

Box Score Eugene, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University men's soccer team lost their first Cascade Collegiate Conference game of 2019 as they lost 2-1 in a tough battle against The College of Idaho. 

Junior Jack O'Leary started the road Yotes (2-2, 1-1 CCC) off early scoring a goal at the twelve-minute marker of the first half. The following goal came during a 1-1 tie game as senior Bekir Cinac scored an unassisted goal with eleven minutes left in the match. Cinac also added the only assist of the game. The Yotes outshot the Beacons 17-5.  

Junior Christoph Mai scored the lone goal for the Beacons on a free kick. Senior goalkeeper Chris Kirby had four saves in the loss.  

Following the game NCU Head Coach Will Hander stated, "it was a hard fought battle today. We tried but fell short of our expectations and credit to The College of Idaho for a well played game." 

NCU (1-2, 1-1) will look to bounce back Friday, September 27 as they hit the road to play Multnomah University at 7pm.
