Beacons Outduel Keelhaulers

Vallejo, Calif. – The Northwest Christian University women's basketball team moved their win streak to seven following an 82-48 road victory against Cal-Maritime on Monday afternoon. 
 
The Beacons jumped out to a 17-8 lead as five different players made a three pointer in the first quarter. For the game NCU shot 46.3% from the field and 41.2% from beyond the arc with 14 made three pointers. 

NCU Head Coach Chad. Meadors stated, "We pulled away from Cal-Maratime with good finishes in the first and second quarter. We didn't play a clean game but we did disrupt their offensive with multiple defenses."
 
Morgan McKinney led Northwest Christian (9-2, 3-0 CCC) with 19 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists while Kayce Mock tallied 10 points and seven rebounds. Dani Harley added 11 points on 3-6 shooting and Sarah Reinecker scored 10 points on 4-5 shooting. With ten players scoring, the attack was balanced for the Beacons. 
 
Meadors said, "It was fun to get everyone involved. Morgan led us again but we had seven players with eight or more points, which really showed off our depth. We return to conference play with a road trip to EOU and College of Idaho. It will be fun to be play in some big games to start the year!"

Kim Masulit led the Keelhaulers (2-12) with 14 points and four steals while Kameron Taylor added 11 points in the loss. 
 
The Beacons will return to Cascade Conference play as they travel to La Grande, Oregon to take on Eastern Oregon University on Friday, January 3, at 5:30pm.
