10/13/2019 11:35:00 PM

EUGENE, Ore. – After taking home two wins last weekend without playing a single match, the NCU Overwatch team continued their winning streak in the second-chance bracket taking down Ferris State University and Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Lineup:
DPS: Akito Ryuzaki, Tyler Chase
Support: Alex Daraban, Jesse Gerlach
Tank: Daniel Gerlach, Chase Dean

GAME ONE: NCU 2, FSU 0

After struggling to find a rhythm in the first two rounds of the Tespa Varisty Overwatch Series, the Beacons are beginning to come together as a unit. The best-of-three match opened on the control map, Busan, with the Beacons taking the map 2-1. Playing on King's Row for game two, NCU held off FSU 4-3.

Tyler Chase (ShockMaster) had a clutch blizzard to hold King's Row and also had two clutch ults on Busan. The Bulldogs had high praise for Daniel Gerlach (Leinad) saying, "he was oppressive to play against due to how much pressure he could put on the enemy". Alex Daraban (Alexio) had another strong performance 23k healing, 19k damage, and 63 eliminations on King's Row alone.

GAME TWO: NCU 2, MSOE 0

The Beacons continued their strong performance just an hour later taking down the Raiders in dominant fashion. Again opening on Busan, NCU took the map 2-0. Akito Ryuzaki (Mist) had a clutch reaper ult to hold first point and Daniel Gerlach (Leinad) had a huge 3k to stop a push on the second. With King's Row again the map choice for game two, NCU employed a full hold on the second defense, winning in dominant fashion, 4-3.

The Overwatch team (6-2) will continue play in the second-chance bracket on Saturday, October 19 at 1 PM and 3 PM PST.
