TACOMA, Wash. – The Beacon men's soccer team out-shot Puget Sound on Friday afternoon, but was unable to find the back of the net, falling to the Loggers in their final non-conference tune-up.
The first half tide was owned by the home team as they out-shot NCU 6-4, and came away with the games only score. In the 19th minute, Cale Spence collected a cross from Luke Murdock and punched it in.
The momentum shifted the other direction over the final 45 minutes, but none of NCU's four shots-on-goal found paydirt.
NCU (1-3) finished the night with a 10-8 edge in shot attempts while keeper
Julian Hernandez made three saves to keep the Beacons within striking distance the entire afternoon.
The Beacons will open up Cascade Collegiate Conference action one week from today as they play host to Northwest University at 5:00 pm.
