CRESWELL, Ore. – Fielding the largest contingent in school history, the Northwest Christian University women's golf team debuted this week at their own Invitational, hosting the  Cascade Collegiate Conference opening tournament at Emerald Valley Golf Club.
 
The Beacons took sixth-place in the event, collecting a two-round score of 769. Oregon Tech and new CCC associate member British Columbia tied for the victory at 629.
 
NCU's leader was sophomore 
Kelsie Hellwege, claiming 27th place with a score of 89-93—182. She was followed in 28th by freshman 
Cassidy Krauss (94-93—187) while freshman 
Fernanda Gardea took 32nd (98-99—197). Freshman 
Hannah Bude finished in 35th place while 
Keri Schwarz, 
Carli Brousseau, and 
Stella Reaka (pictured) all tied in 37th.
 
The Beacons fall season will roll on next week as they travel to Caldwell for the College of Idaho Invitational.
