ROCKLIN, Calif. – The NCU women's basketball team opened up play in the Bill Holtz Memorial Classic with an easy 91-45 victory over Bethesda University on Friday afternoon.
Â
NCU (1-2) shot 52% from the field and hit 9-for-18 from three-point range while their stingy defense allowed the Flames to shoot just 24% from the floor. The offense was rolling strong as NCU picked up 21 assists on 34 field goals.

Head Coach
Chad Meadors said, "We played solid today, especially in the third quarter, dictating the tempo defensively, getting in the passing lanes and creating turnovers. This was more in tune with what we are trying to do. A lot of players got the opportunity to contribute and we were able to do a lot of good things."
Â
After taking a 28-10 in the first quarter, the Beacons moved into the break with a 51-22 advantage. In the third quarter, NCU outscored Bethesda 27-7 to put the game away.
Â
The Beacons were led by sophomore
Morgan McKinney (pictured), shooting a perfect 6-for-6 including three treys for 18 points in just 18 minutes of work. All 12 suited players got into the action with everyone playing between 11 and 21 minutes.
Â
Conner Borigo added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds while Brittany Ralson scored ten.
Hannah Eddens came off the bench to score nine points and six rebounds. NCU collected ten steals and forced 27 turnovers.
Â
