SALEM, Ore. – NCU and Bethesda University moved their schedule game to Salem on Monday and the team from Southern California came away with the victory, defeating the Beacons 1-0 at the Capital FC Training Complex.
Â
The Flames collected the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute. NCU keeper
Christopher Kirby made a brilliant diving save on a shot by Eduardo Stadtlander, but the ricochet bounced to Betheda teammate Costa Santana who fired home the winning strike.
Â
Kirby was busy for most of the afternoon, finishing with six saves as the Flames out-shot NCU 16-8 including a 7-3 margin in shots-on-goal.
Victor Irechukwu led the Beacons with two shot attempts.
Â
