Women's Golf Returns to NCU Athletics

EUGENE, Ore. – The 2017-2018 season has brought with it the return of the NCU women's golf program, which had been dormant since 2014. The Beacons competed in their first tournament of the season at the Oregon Tech Invitational.

Leading the way for the Beacons was freshman Kelsie Hellwege (pictured), who opened the tournament with a 79 on Monday and closed with a 91 on Tuesday to take 16th place.

Also golfing for NCU for the first time was former Beacon soccer player Mackenzie Galick. Galick had a 17-stroke round-over-round improvement and finished the event in 27th place.

The ladies will be back in action next week when they come home to the Springfield Golf Club to host the Northwest Christian University Invitational.
