EUGENE, Ore. – Junior
Niki Duncan (pictured) hit a school-record eight three-pointers and Northwest Christian University tied a record with 17 total distance drops as the Beacons outlasted The College of Idaho on Sunday afternoon, 88-75. The win gave NCU their first ever season sweep of the Yotes.

NCU (12-7, 9-3 CCC) was 17-for-29 from downtown, shooting 58.6% while hitting 60% of their shots overall. Â NCU out-rebounded the Yotes 35-30 and survived a 27-turnover day.

Duncan and company went to work early, establishing a 32-15 lead after the first ten minutes. Duncan dropped six straight threes in the opening stretch and
Jeni Hoffert hit three of her own to give the Beacons the large advantage.

The Beacons led by as many as 23 points late in the first half, but the Yotes fought back, cutting the NCU lead to 58-48 early in the third quarter, but Duncan scored five straight points to stretch it back to 15 and the route was on.

Duncan finished her career night with 28 points, shooting 9-for-11 from the field and 8-for-10 from three-point range. It was the second-best overall field goal percentage ever in a single-game for the Beacons. NCU's other deep threats, Hoffert and Christenson got plenty of action of their own from beyond the arch, combining for NCU's other nine threes. Christenson came off the bench to hit four threes, scoring 19 points, and Hoffert finished with 15 points as she drained five treys.

While the shooters were busy with bucket after bucket, senior Post
Hanna Mack was keeping herself occupied with a fine performance underneath, scoring seven points with six rebounds, three steals, three assists and a school-record tying five blocked shots.

The College of Idaho (6-12, 6-6) was led by Petra Lumpert, scoring 26 points as she went 12-for-16 from the free-throw line. Maddie Skaggs added 14 points, four assists and a game-high seven rebounds. Madison Pilster added 12 points and Jaycin Tini went 3-for-6 from outside, scoring 11.

NCU will be back in action on Wednesday night, traveling to face Corban University (12-8, 6-6) at 5:30 pm. The Yotes will be back on their home floor next weekend, hosting Northwest University and The Evergreen State College.Â
