ASHLAND, Ore. – The Southern Oregon University women's basketball team, ranked No. 15 in the latest NAIA coaches' poll, outscored the Beacons 23-11 in the fourth quarter to close out an 88-70 win.

The Beacons (4-5, 0-2 CCC) out-shot the Raiders in the contest, hitting on 49% of their shots while holding SOU to just 40% shooting, but 26 turnovers proved insurmountable in the defeat.

NCU had five players in double-figures, led by
Andrea Gloss. The senior scored a season-high 19 points, adding nine rebounds, four assists, four blocks and three steals.
Sami Pitts (pictured) went 4-for-6 from three-point range to score 12 points and
Jenna Christenson was 3-for-4 from beyond the arch for 11 points off the bench.
Monique Thompson and
Hanna Mack added ten points apiece and
Demarea Caples scored eight points to go with a game-high five assists.

Southern Oregon (8-0, 2-0) was led by Autumn Durand, scoring 28 points as she shot 7-for-11 from the field and was a perfect 10-for-10 at the charity stripe. Ashley Claussen scored 23 points, hitting five highly contested three-pointers.

The Beacons will have two weeks to regroup and prepare for their CCC home debut on December 18, when they will take on The College of Idaho (2-6, 1-1 CCC) at 5:30 pm. The next night will see a 5:30 pm visit from Eastern Oregon (6-4, 2-0).
