KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Northwest Christian University men's soccer season came to a close on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 overtime loss to Northwest University. NCU tied the game late in the second half but couldn't avoid the defeat.
Â
Northwest got on the board early. A penalty kick was called in the ninth minute after an NCU foul in the box. Jacob Weaver got the call for the Eagles and his attempt was denied by Beacon keeper
John Castro. The deflected ball, however, went right back to Weaver who put away the score.
Â
It remained a 1-0 game until the 67th minute when the Beacons punched in the equalizer. A Corner kick from
Chris Hendler sailed straight for
Isaiah Blake (pictured) who finished into the left side of the net. It was the seventh career goal for the senior, tying him for third on NCU's all-time scoring list. Â
Â
The game went to overtime and in the 94th minute the Eagles capitalized on an errant clearance pass by the Beacon backline, as Trent Siedenburg fired home the deflection for the game-winner.
Â
Northwest Christian finishes the season with a 3-14-1 mark as the Beacons went 2-11 in the CCC.Â
