SALEM, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's golf team began the spring portion of their season on Monday and Tuesday, taking fifth place at the Corban University Invitational at Creekside Golf Course. Haley Partridge led NCU with a top-ten finish.

NCU scored 1162 points over the three-round event, falling to The College of Idaho by just two strokes. Concordia University won the event going away with 1021 strokes, 36 shots ahead of second-place Northwest Nazarene. Host Corban took third with an 1120.

Just like her team, CU's Sunny Powers ran away with the individual title, claiming the medal by a convincing 17-strokes over second place Samantha Miller of Northwest Nazarene (251). Concordia's Jennifer Gibbons took third (253) followed by Corban's Brooke Spencer (255) in fourth and CU's Madison Alamillo (258) and Kelsey Whiles (258) in fifth.

Partridge took tenth for the Beacons, shooting an 88-90-90=268. It was the fourth top-ten finish of the season for the Senior. Ashley Steiner (pictured) took 25th place for the Beacons with a 295, followed by Samantha Pyburn, making her NCU debut in 29th place (299). Sami Pitts took 30th (300) and Tierra Davis was in 34th (340).

Northwest Christian University returns to action on Monday, April 7 when they play host to the next Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season tournament at their home course at Springfield Country Club. Partridge took third place at the event last season.
