Beacons Close Out OIT Invitational

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The first match and first Cascade Collegiate conference event of the season has come and gone for the Northwest Christian University women's golf team.

Having three players, NCU did not score in the team results, which were led by Concordia. The Cavaliers shot a 957 over three rounds to top College of Idaho by ten strokes.

Leading for the Beacons was senior Haley Partridge (81-81-85=246), taking ninth place. Sophomore Sami Pitts (pictured) improved each round and finished in 25th (107-98-93=298) while Ashley Steiner made her debut in 27th (99-109-106=314).

Individual medalist honors went to the College of Idaho's Baylee Borchers who finished six-shots ahead of Concordia's Holly Winburn. Rounding out the top five were Warner Pacific's Scotty Jo Helmick and the Concordia duo of Sonny Powers and Jennifer Gibbons.

The Beacons will be back in action at the end of the month, playing in the Concordia Cavalier Classic on September 30th and October 1st.
